Oliver Gateway

Oliver Gateway (St. Casimir) Neighborhood Association

The Oliver Gateway celebrates South Bend history, drawing its name from the old Oliver Chilled Plow Works site that is now a park on the east side of the neighborhood.

Elsewhere in Oliver, this working-class neighborhood always has been energized by its ethnicity, with immigrants from Poland, Hungary and Germany followed by more recent Latino neighbors. It’s home to some of South Bend’s favorite old-school taverns, and thriving small businesses like Jenny’s Bakery.
